Terms & Conditions

These are the same Terms & Conditions shown inside the app (About → Terms & Conditions). By installing or using the app you accept them. When the version changes, the app asks you to accept the new version before you continue.

1. Who we are

BooksOn HSN ("the App") is published by ARISHIMETO Technologies Private Limited (CIN U58200TN2026PTC196842), a company registered in India with its registered office at No. 3/9 (2/9), Flat No. 9, II Floor, Unique Apartment, Nehru Nagar 1st Street, Adyar, Chennai – 600 020, Tamil Nadu, India ("ARISHIMETO", "we", "us").

2. A search aid, not advice

The App only makes it easier to search the HSN/SAC codes and the GST rate notifications issued by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), and suggests a code, a rate and the notification entry they come from. It is NOT legal, tax, accounting or professional advice, and it is not an official publication of the Government of India. Classification of goods and services and the applicable rate depend on facts that the App cannot know (nature of the supply, packaging, value thresholds, conditions of the entry, the recipient, the place of supply and the date of supply).

3. Your duty to verify

Before you classify a supply, issue an invoice, file a return, claim input tax credit, or take any other decision, you must check the relevant CBIC notification and circular yourself (each rate card cites them) and, where appropriate, consult a qualified professional. Rates, conditions and exemptions change; a rate shown as in force may have been amended, superseded, clarified or struck down after the dataset was published. The dataset version and publication date are shown on the home screen and on every card.

4. The decision is yours

Choosing the HSN/SAC code and the rate for your goods or services is your own decision and your own responsibility. Every suggestion in the App must be confirmed by you from the notification on the government portal (taxinformation.cbic.gov.in) before you rely on it. The App's data is compiled from the notifications and their amendments and may contain errors or omissions; the App does not certify any code or rate.

5. No liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ARISHIMETO, its directors, employees and contributors are not liable for any loss, tax demand, interest, penalty, denied credit, dispute or damage of any kind arising from use of, or reliance on, the App or its data, including from errors, omissions, delays in updating, or unavailability. You use the App entirely at your own risk.

6. Free service; changes

The App is provided free of charge, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We may change, suspend or withdraw the App or the dataset feed at any time without notice.

7. Intellectual property

8. Data and privacy

The App works offline and needs no account. It connects to the internet only:

1. to check bookson.in for dataset updates;
2. when you choose to send them, to deliver to bookson.in the details you type into the optional "About you" questions (name, profession, place), a rating or suggestion with an optional reply email, or the optional BooksOn signup form (name, email, phone);
3. to ask bookson.in to erase that profile and feedback when you tap "Delete my data";
4. to send anonymous app-usage statistics and crash reports to Google Firebase, which never include your search text, name or contact details and which you can switch off in About → Your data; and
5. to read the Google Play Install Referrer once for attribution.

Your profile and unsent feedback are kept on this device and are excluded from device backups. Details are in the Privacy Policy. Grievance Officer: Subramani S, grievance@bookson.in.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu have exclusive jurisdiction. If any clause is held unenforceable the rest remain in force.

Use of this website

This website (www.bookson.co.in) describes the App and publishes its policies. It is provided on the same basis as the App: for information only, without warranty, and subject to clauses 2 to 7 and 10 above. The website sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising, and loads nothing from third parties. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) for security and troubleshooting; see the Privacy Policy. Links to government and store websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.
