BooksOn HSN has no user accounts. The only personal data we hold is what you chose to send from the app: an optional profile, ratings and suggestions, and an optional BooksOn sign-up. You can delete it in two ways.
Option 1: in the app (fastest)
- Open BooksOn HSN and tap About in the bottom bar.
- Scroll to Your data and tap Delete my data.
- Confirm with Delete.
Your profile, ratings and suggestions are removed from the phone immediately, and the app asks BooksOn to delete the copies it holds under your random app ids. If you are offline, the request waits on the phone and is sent automatically when you are back online, until BooksOn confirms.
Option 2: by email
If you no longer have the app, or you want to delete a BooksOn sign-up (name, email, phone you entered to request BooksOn access), write to grievance@bookson.in with the subject "Delete my BooksOn HSN data". Include the email address or phone number you used, so we can find the record. We complete requests within 30 days and reply to confirm.
What is deleted and what is kept

| Anonymous usage statistics and crash reports (Google Firebase) | Not linked to your name or contact details, so they cannot be looked up per person. They expire under Google's retention (14 months). You can stop them at any time: About → Your data → switch off "Share usage statistics and crash reports". |
| Records we must keep by law | If a law requires us to keep a record (for example a legal claim), we keep only that record, only for as long as required. |
Uninstalling
Uninstalling the app removes everything stored on the phone. It does not delete what BooksOn already received, so use Delete my data first, or email us afterwards.
